Nikon’s Pimp Daddy S8000 P&S Available Soon

Nikon is adding a whole slew of new Point and Shoot Cameras to their line up. Some of the models include the “high end” S8000, a mid range S6000, an entry level S4000 and a basic S3000.

I’m not gonna go in to extreme details here about all the cameras, but the S8000 is a slim little camera with a 10X optical zoom, 4 way image stabilization and supports ISO settings up to 3200. You can also record high definition movies at 30fps with stereo audio. The 3 inch LCD is spectacular and works well with the subject tracking feature. Expect a retail price tag floating around $300 sometime this month.

Apple releases iPhone OS 3.1.3 with battery reporting fix

This is about a day old, but still good for most of you readers out there that have day jobs…

Apple released the 3.1.3 version of the iPhone OS software yesterday afternoon for both the iPhone and iPod touch. Mainly improving the accuracy of the battery level on the iPhone 3GS(doesn’t do me any good since I’m still using a 3G…doh!).

This update will also resolve an issue pertaining to third party apps failing to launch. There are several security updates related to CoreAudio, ImageIO, Recovery Mode and WebKit. If you still are not fully convinced to upgrade and lose  your jailbreak, read the support documentation here

For those of you that care… there is a new version of iTunes as well.

Increase Your PS3′s Storage Capacity By 500GB W/ Buffalo

The Buffalo HD-AV500U2/SC and HD-CL500U2/SC are certified to play with the latest Japanese Torne TV tuner and will also increase your PS3′s storage capacity by 500GB.

So what’s the difference between the models? Seems like it’s purely aesthetics,  the HD-AV500U2/SC has a piano black finish, front panel LED’s and sits horizontally while the counter part is a bit more low key. Pricing is around $170 and $130 respectively and will show up on Japanese store shelves March 2010.

Now for a bit of a curve ball……. these drives are certified for use with the PS3, however ANY USB 2.0 hard drive should do the trick. Nice try buffalo.
