Apple iPad To Have A VGA Output

Apple’s new iPad seems to be defying the forces of nature and will have a VGA connector option. Don’t worry, for the traditionalists, the device will still be able to output video(composite or component) using the original iPod/iPhone video cables.

The beauty of the VGA connection is that you’ll be able to watch video at a higher resolution, 1024X768 instead of 720X480. Why the sudden change of heart? Most likely because the higher resolution is ideal for projector connectivity. It would be entirely tool cool to use an iPad as your dedicated Keynote presentation machine!

For the cry babies out there, Apple didn’t choose DVI or HDMI simply because the device just doesn’t support full HD resolutions. Besides, VGA connectors are found on just about EVERY projector, LCD, Plasma, monitor, etc. It’s cheaper, easier and just more widely compatible.
