If you’re a tree hugger with deep pockets, you may want to keep an eye out for the Panasonic Eco-Navi washing machine. It has the capability of determining how dirty your clothes are and will in turn program itself accordingly to “fix” the problem. Both light sensors and impedance sensors are used to detect grime/sweat. Why all the effort? Simple, increasing efficiency! You’re typical washing machine will use 79 watt hours and 72 liters of water, where this unit will use 72 watt hours and 67 liters.
Going green is always great, but for $3000, I think I’m better off with my highly inefficient Maytag.
